Functions

Provide evidence-based analysis of the supply and demand on all sectors of the economy, and recommend interventions for enhanced productivity and competitiveness

  • Identify, verify and monitor cost drivers in the business and economic environment and advise on measures to be taken to enhance productivity and address emerging cost challenges;
  • Conduct value chains competitiveness analysis and production of reports;
  • Identify sectors of the Zimbabwean economy with potential for aiding the achievement of a competitive Consumer price Index in Zimbabwe and establish gaps and provide recommendations;
  • Liaise with Government Ministries, Departments Agencies (MDAs), Business Organisation Members (BMOs) and other stakeholders on competitiveness;
  • Production and maintenance of a cost drivers database;
  • Organize Competitiveness Seminars and provide a platform for dialogue between the Government, private sector, labour, academia and non-state actors on competitiveness issues.
