]]> In line with its mandate to produce annually benchmarked competitiveness reports, the National Competitiveness Commission (NCC) produced its inaugural Zimbabwe Competitiveness Report (ZCR) in 2021 to achieve the objectives of the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1).

The Report mainly adopted the annual World Economic Forum – Global Competitiveness Index (WEF – GCI) and the World Bank Doing Business Indicators in assessing competitiveness and the implications of the same on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), international trade and economic growth, while noting the limitations inherent in the
methodologies used.
